BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1 is a battery monitoring and protection device produced by Texas Instruments (TI). It is an integrated 16-cell battery monitor designed for high-reliability automotive applications.
The device features passive cell balancing and can monitor and detect many different fault conditions, including overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature and communications faults. It contains six GPIO ports and eight analog AUX ADC inputs for additional monitoring and programmable functionality. In addition, BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1 also has an auxiliary thermal shutdown function to further enhance its own protection function.
The BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1 monitors and balances 6 to 16 cells and provides high-precision monitoring capabilities. It also features a 14-bit high-performance analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with internal reference, integrated protectors with independent Vref for overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) comparators, and programmable VCELL settings point. Additionally, the device supports passive equalization via external N-channel FETs and active equalization via the EMB1428Q/EMB1499Q.
The BQ76PL455ATPFCRQ1 is suitable for a variety of applications including energy storage systems (ESS) and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), as well as e-bikes and e-scooters. It comes in a TQFP80 package and operates over the -40°C to 85°C temperature range.
